Non-Perishable Food Donations
All non-perishable, non-expired food items are appreciated and may be placed in any of our collection bins.
Perishable Food Donations
Perishable food items from the store directly to the food bank are always welcome and may be donated only at the Kuna Food Bank during our open hours.
Food Drop-Off Locations
For your convenience, we have four drop-off locations throughout Kuna where you may drop off non-perishable food items. Look for the bright yellow bin at each location.
Where the Kuna Food Bank Stock Comes From
Our Kuna Neighbors
Every fall, the Kuna Community Food Drive is held. In November 2022, 25 tons of non-perishable food was gathered from throughout Kuna and sorted by hundreds of volunteers. Donations come in weekly from neighbors wanting to help, trusting the Kuna Food Bank to reach those they cannot help directly. Local businesses and churches hold mini-food drives throughout the year.
Albertsons
Our Kuna Albertsons sponsors a Nourishing Neighbors campaign each fall, which allows Kuna neighbors to donate cash at the register before finalizing their personal grocery purchases. These donations come to the Kuna Food Bank in the form of Albertsons gift cards, which we use to purchase perishable foods and non-perishable staples we run out of at various times of the year.
The Kuna Food Bank participates in food rescue from Albertsons each week.
Jacksons
The Kuna Food Bank participates in food rescue from our two Kuna Jackson’s stores weekly.
Ridley’s Family Markets
Our Kuna Ridley’s sponsors the Sharing is Caring campaign each year. Bags are pre-filled by Ridley’s employees with food staples valued at approximately $5 each. Ridley’s customers can purchase as many bags as they desire at checkout. The purchased food bags are then added to huge pallet boxes which are picked up by the Kuna Food Bank each week during November and December. OWN Realty hosts a “Stuff the Truck” event in cooperation with Ridley’s each December.
The Idaho Foodbank
Each month, we are able to access the Idaho Foodbank and benefit from what area food suppliers and manufacturers have contributed to them.
